Situation Update
Hurricane Ian's eye went through Fort Myers, Florida in the fall of 2022. This was one of the top five strongest and biggest storms to ever hit the United States.
Our partner in Fort Myers, Pastor Matt and Pastor Sarah Keller of Next Level Church (native to Auburn, Indiana) say, "It's exactly as bad as they say it is on the news." Many people have lost everything. Many places are without electricity and potable water.
Next Level Church in Fort Myers believes like we do -- that Jesus shines brightest in dark places! Their volunteers -- many of them without water themselves, are working hard to show Jesus' love to rebuild their hurting community.
They need our help.
The Bottom Line
New Hope is exploring plans to take a team of volunteers to partner with Next Level Church (Pastor Matt and Sarah Keller) for Hurricane Ian Recovery in the Fort Myers area. They are in need of volunteers with specialized skills such as forklift drivers, box truck drivers, contractors, and large and small machine operators as well as general labor (i.e. unloading supplies from trucks, removing home contents to dumpsters, etc.).

We do not have a lot of details to share at this point, as it is in the planning stages. Here's what we do know:
- This is a very physical mission trip, but opportunities to pray with the hurting are expected as well.
- We will likely be sleeping on floors (air mattresses allowed).
- Due to the nature of this trip, only adults are permitted.
- We anticipate leaving on a weekend and returning back the following weekend.
- If we have to guess, this trip will occur early November.
